I’m Jim Thomsen. I was born on June 29, 1965.
I work as the night news editor at The Kitsap Sun in Bremerton, Washington. I live in Bremerton. I was raised on Bainbridge Island. I did not grow up on Bainbridge Island.
I’m single. I have no children.
I have a cat, Lucy. I’m a cat person and a heterosexual. Not a dog person at all.
I went to Auburn Adventist Academy, a Seventh-day Adventist boarding school, for high school. I also went to three colleges someplace and graduated from two.
I like music. But not all music. Same with books and movies.
Speaking of books, I’m writing two. One is a true-crime book based on a Kitsap County case from a few years ago, titled “She Never Had A Chance.” The other is a mystery-thriller novel called “Desolation Sound.” I have an agent lined up and high hopes.
I still have most of my hair. But not all of my hair.
I’m mostly just this guy.

Hey, Jim – The new blog looks great. The photos are superb, by the way. And you’re looking pretty good, yourself!

you could so easily become the legend of karaoke – what are you thinking keeping yourself hidden away in your editor skin? you could take over the world with your white man overbite tush push inspired rendition of “too sexy” ….
i think i’ll stick around to see it happen.
thanks for sharing yourself. Much appreciated.

Love the blog. Found you through your friend Craig’s blog…the eleven question thing is great. I have a major problem with ellipses, but I hope to get some therapy soon. Wish there were more people who paid attention to our use of the language.

I also found you through Craig’s blog and am enjoying what I’m reading so far. Nicely done.

Strange how you can work with someone for years at the Review and never know what color eyes they have. Damn, that close-up eyeball shot is a little over the top.
Also didn’t know you were an Auburn grad, which m’lady is as well.
Consider yourself bookmarked.

Hey Jim,
Like your website. It’s me, Lisa, from Facebook and AAA (‘88).
I am a dog person, had a dog named Lucy. Great name eh? Used to not be a car person, til I rescued a cat recently. Will post details later on Facebook….but long story short, it’s a cat that is now at my Moms adult family home. Makes the oddest sounds, so, they named him ‘Squeakers’.
Well, your website has inspired me to get one going. Lot the picture of the bug splats.
Best Regards,
Lisa
